These are pictures of Albanian temple built on the most ancient sanctuary in the territory of former Caucasian Albania in Kish village of Sheki. There are many interesting exhibits in the temple including graves of Albanian people of I-V B.C. There are many ancient Caucasian Albania temples in Azerbaijan. This temple and overall this museum complex was restored with support of Norwegian government. World famous Norwegian ethnographer and adventurer Thor Heyerdahl after his visit to Sheki and Kish said that he believed that ancient Norwegians migrated from Sheki/Kish area...interesting...

Nick G.: Not the Albanians you are thinking of. Caucasian Albania has nothing to do with Albania in Balkans (except the name). Caucasian Albania is far more ancient than modern-day Albania in Balkans.
Albania in Balkan is the most ancient country cause our land before was called Illyria(hope you have heard about illyrians).but it made me courious because in our albanian language the word kish means church(tha same word in caucasian Albania kish albanian temple).It's interesting.

Thank you for your comment. Your comment is very interesting. Kish is the name of the village in Sheki where the church is located. Next time I am there I will check what the villagers say about the meaning of their village name. We have numerous Albanian churches across Azerbaijan.
