Bride & Groom

Today I am posting a photo of a couple that is getting married and came to Sheki Khan Sarayi to take their photo. Everyone would agree that on a wedding day if not the groom then the bride is sure that this is the day when she is the most beautiful woman on Earth. This is her day. Well maybe the groom thinks the same I am just not sure. And of course she wants the pictures to be taken in the most beautiful spots. Naturally in Sheki they came to take their photo in front of Sheki Khan Sarayi. God bless.

The brides’ head-dress is not typical for Sheki. As a matter of fact there is no general style at the moment and every bride’s veil is as she chooses. Red ribbon on her waist means that she is a virgin…this tradition came from earlier times and is still very much obeyed to...tradition of not only wearing the ribbon but also actually being a virgin until getting married…

This is a sweet picture of one of life's milestones. I wish them all the happiness in the world and may they successfully overcome any struggles that may come their way.

That dress is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. It's so delicately elegant, so proper, so very sweet. In my eyes, that's the perfect wedding dress. Lovely photo!

It is a difficult picture in the shade without flash but you got it and I think it is fine. I like the looks on their faces. A whole lifetime in ahead of them. Life has many ups and downs and if they are successful they will be married until the day they die.

Nice work.

That dress is very very beautiful. And she must be proud wearing the red ribbon as a symbol of a virgin. Very nice photo.

I love the brides head dress -- and the background. What' the tie on her hand for?

Dear All,

Thank you very much for your comments.

Inside the tie on her hand there is a piece of sugar and a coin that are symbols of sweetness and wealth that she will bring with her to new family.

I like the body language of the two. The man standing straight and determined, but still looking a little uncertain. The woman a little flexed, looking serene and happy. May they have many wonderful years together.
